Ultrasound Technician Colleges

The time period for completing the ultrasound technician course is either 1 or 2 years. This technician program will help the students to prepare for national certification exam which is administered by the ARDMS. The students who complete ultrasound technician programs and then pass the certification examination enter into ultrasound technology field as the sonographer.

 

Baker College:

The institute offers the vascular ultrasound technician course program which focuses on the major aspect of teaching the students regarding the skills and fundamentals that are required behind the production of diagnostic image of circulatory systems by using the sound waves of high frequency. The fundamentals related to ultrasound, pathophysiology and venous anatomy are learned by the students. The students who finish the programs on ultrasound technology will receive the associate degrees in the vascular ultrasound technologies.

Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts:

The institute provides the ultrasound technology course which is completed within 18 months. The course program generally includes clinical experience, laboratory and classroom. The course is a full time course but the students are not required to stay in the institute for the whole day. The courses in ultrasound technology are available in two schedules both evening and day time classes to support the students. Students are not allowed to match and mix the evening and day class schedule and they must select between 2 choices.

Lincoln University:

The ultrasound technician program offered by the institute last for 80 weeks, the class schedule is full time and the students can opt the class timing based on their convenience and can attend either the evening class or the day time class. There are 4 modules that are included in the program and they are the externship, advanced ECG course, advanced ultrasound course and the core course. Students undergo the courses which include Doppler vascular imaging, introduction to echocardiography, abdomen and the other small parts and medical terminology.

Bellevue College:

The institute provides diagnostic technology program which prepares the students to become the nationally certified candidate as the diagnostic sonographer. The topics generally covered in the course program includes pathophysiology, acoustical principles, gynecological sonography, obstetrical and vascular technology.   Associate degree is offered to the students who have completed the ultrasound technician program. Full time course is offered by the institute.
